Biography

Karl Moritz is the CEO of Reliant AI, where he divides his time between fundamental research in machine learning and applying AI to the real world. With the team at Reliant AI he is working on fundamentally rethinking and improving the way strategic decisions are made in drug development. Earlier in his career, Karl Moritz spent five years as a senior staff researcher at DeepMind.

Previously he was co-founder and CEO of Dark Blue Labs, a company specialising in deep learning for NLP. Dark Blue Labs was acquired by Google in 2014 to become part of DeepMind. Karl Moritz holds a doctorate from Oxford in computational linguistics and machine learning.

Fun Fact

I grew up in China. Before my PhD I worked at McKinsey for a couple of years where I first got exposure to the life sciences industry. It's fun to be back at this from a very different angle!
